Router – Student Transportation Services

Job overview

The Router role is onsite in Maui, HI, with a Monday–Friday schedule and annual pay of $70,000–$75,000. The role implements and oversees the Student Transportation Service Branch’s student transportation program under its agreements with government officials and bus vendors. The Router monitors contractor performance, reviews invoices, and coordinates school bus routes and stops. The work supports safe, efficient student transportation by assessing service delivery, addressing contract issues, and responding to school, family, and community needs.

What you'll do

• Interpret student transportation service agreements
• collect operational data and audit contractor performance, safety, and service levels
• reconcile and review invoices
• report contract deviations and recommend corrective measures
• review community and school transportation needs
• plan and revise routes, including special-needs and McKinney-Vento services
• evaluate bus stops for student safety
• support transportation technology and users
• respond to school, parent, community, and government inquiries
• maintain records
• support accident communications
• recruit, train, and supervise the assigned Office Clerk III as needed.
