Modern Dance Instructor

The Modern Dance Instructor role is onsite in Flossmoor, IL, with camp hours Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; hours may change based on enrollment and class sizes. Compensation is $25 per hour. The instructor supports Wiz Kids Sports Camps, which provide seasonal youth sports camps with athletic and academic enrichment. The role teaches dance fundamentals and technique while guiding campers through camp activities. It helps campers develop artistic sensibilities and an appreciation for dance, and includes choreography for the end-of-session showcase.

What you'll do

• Teach fundamental and applicable advanced dance steps and sound technique
• guide campers through daily camp activities
• develop campers’ critical artistic sensibilities
• choreograph the end-of-session camper showcase
• provide or assign individual help as needed
• communicate with camp leadership about camper welfare and related issues
• comply with suspected child abuse reporting requirements.

Why this role

Prior modern dance instruction experience at elementary or high school level is listed. An associate or bachelor’s degree in performing or fine arts is highly preferred. CPR, First Aid, AED, or other applicable safety certification is listed among qualifications. Camp dates are scheduled for summer 2027.
