Medical Receptionist — Foot and Ankle Practice

The Medical Receptionist role is an onsite, full-time position in Fairfax, VA, with compensation of $18–$22 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. FXR Foot & Ankle is a surgeon-owned specialty practice providing medical and surgical foot and ankle care. The receptionist serves as a primary point of contact for patients and supports an organized, efficient front office. Accurate scheduling, records, insurance coordination, and courteous communication help patients navigate their visits and support the clinical team.

What you'll do

• Welcome patients and visitors
• manage check-in and check-out
• answer and route calls
• schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments
• maintain surgeon schedules
• register patients and update demographic, insurance, and contact information
• verify insurance eligibility as assigned
• collect payments and provide receipts
• assist with referrals, authorizations, records, forms, and patient communications
• scan and index documents in the electronic health record
• protect confidentiality and comply with HIPAA
• maintain the reception area
• assist surgeons and clinical staff with administrative needs when appropriate.
