Youth Peer Support Specialist

What you'll do

• Provide one-on-one peer support using the Peer Connect curriculum
• travel across the region, including rural areas
• link youth with resources and assist with referrals and service access
• maintain scheduled drop-in office hours
• help the YPSSN team facilitate workshops and coordinate speakers and educational opportunities
• attempt first contact by the end of the business day after case assignment and document attempts within 24 hours
• document youth contacts and program activities
• assist with youth surveys as requested
• participate in agency meetings and supervision
• support educational and vocational goals.

Why this role

Applicants must be 18–26 and have received services related to a mental health diagnosis that significantly affected their life and relationships, be in recovery, and be willing to self-disclose. A valid Maine driver’s license and registered, insured vehicle are required currently or within 12 months of hire; Peer Connect certification is obtained through training.
