• Direct and oversee daily unit activities on the assigned shift
• make patient assignments and support emergency department section and waiting-room flow
• round on patients to assess care quality and safety
• provide or oversee nursing care and patient-centered communication
• coordinate care documentation and interdisciplinary collaboration
• communicate unit needs to nursing leadership
• support staffing and resource planning
• mentor and precept team members.
