What you'll do

• Receive, accession, and label specimens in the Laboratory Information System
• verify specimen acceptability
• package and ship specimens to reference laboratories according to handling requirements
• operate and troubleshoot instruments
• perform routine maintenance
• maintain supplies and inventory
• report patient-safety issues and specimen deficiencies
• maintain quality-control and maintenance logs
• handle hazardous waste safely
• follow standard operating procedures and wear personal protective equipment.
