What you'll do

• Assume responsibility for a nursing unit
• oversee assessments, medication distribution, treatments, clinical documentation, and staff supervision
• audit immunizations and admission charts
• review admission orders
• monitor clinical and staffing issues
• complete electronic 24-hour reports and discharge instructions for the 11 p.m.–7 a.m. shift
• provide staff in-services as needed
• maintain medication rooms and monitor medication supplies
• complete psychotropic, wound, skin, infection-control, and fall reports and follow-up documentation
• develop care plans for facility-acquired infections
• conduct assessments and document nursing care
• contact physicians for admission orders and reconcile medications
• respond to emergency codes.
