The Experienced CNC Machinist role is onsite in Portsmouth, VA, with work at the company’s Fifth Street and Syer Road locations as job needs require. Compensation is $25–$35 per hour. Collins Machine Works fabricates, maintains, repairs, and alters machinery, machine parts, tools, and equipment. The machinist sets up and operates precision machinery to fabricate and shape parts while meeting tolerance and safety requirements. The role supports plant production by interpreting drawings, selecting tooling, tracking jobs, maintaining equipment, and coordinating work with others; overtime may be needed on evenings or weekends.

What you'll do

• Set up and operate machining equipment
• fabricate and shape metal parts
• select, align, and secure fixtures, tools, and materials
• interpret drawings and work instructions
• use gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerances
• clean and perform light maintenance on machinery
• track parts and jobs in JobBOSS and Travelers
• follow safety procedures
• coordinate plant work.
