The Human Resources Director role is onsite at one of the client’s locations: Traverse City, MI, Petoskey, MI, Harbor Springs, MI, or Gaylord, MI. Compensation is not specified. The director partners with ownership and senior leaders to align people strategy with business objectives. The role develops scalable HR practices, strengthens leadership and employee engagement, oversees talent acquisition and rewards, and supports compliance and organizational effectiveness.

What you'll do

• Lead HR strategy, operations, and team development
• partner on workforce strategy and organizational planning
• develop HR systems and policies
• lead leadership development, succession planning, and employee engagement
• oversee employee relations, investigations, and performance management
• oversee recruiting and workforce planning
• lead compensation, benefits, HRIS, and payroll coordination
• ensure employment compliance and advise on workplace risk.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, organizational development, or related field and 7–10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is preferred. Travel between company locations is part of the role.
