The role exists to produce timely, accurate cost estimates and quotes for fabricated sheet metal products and complex assemblies. By analyzing customer specifications and coordinating with internal teams and suppliers, the engineer supports informed project decisions and effective production costing.
What you'll do
- Prepare cost estimates for fabricated sheet metal products and high-level assemblies using blueprints, engineering models and customer specifications. Coordinate quote information with Supply Chain
- work with Sales and Engineering to understand project scope
- prioritize estimates and quote/no-quote decisions
- obtain purchased-part costs
- recommend alternative processes
- assess make-versus-buy options while supporting business margins.
