Sterile Supply Technician

Job overview

The Sterile Supply Technician role is onsite in Syracuse, NY, with five eight-hour shifts per week, totaling 40 hours. Travel candidates are offered $1,100–$1,300 per week; local candidates are offered $20–$25 per hour. The technician supports clinical departments by preparing sterile instruments and trays for patient-care procedures. The role exists to ensure surgical instruments are safely decontaminated, assembled, sterilized, and ready for use. It supports infection prevention and clinical operations through reliable processing, documentation, and response to urgent requests.

What you'll do

• Decontaminate, disinfect, wash, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays
• operate and monitor cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization equipment
• assemble simple and complex instrument sets
• document sterilization and decontamination processes
• follow aseptic techniques and infection-prevention and safety protocols
• respond to urgent requests from clinical staff.

Why this role

Requires a GED or equivalent and CRCST or CBSPD certification, or qualifying Central Service Technician examination completion or at least one year of Central Service Technician employment in a healthcare facility. Rotating weekends from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and holidays may be required based on departmental needs. Travel and housing reimbursements are not provided.
