School Counselor

The School Counselor works onsite in New York, NY, on a full-time, 10-month schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., with attendance at special events expected. Salary is $65,000–$85,000 annually, based on experience. The counselor is part of the school’s mental health and counseling team and supports a grade level of students. The counselor develops and implements academic and social-emotional plans, provides individual and group counseling, responds to crises with the clinical social work team, and works with students, families, staff, and school leadership. What you'll do

• Support students’ social-emotional, academic, and college counseling needs
• develop individualized academic plans
• provide individual and group counseling and submit documentation
• conduct crisis intervention and social-emotional assessments
• collaborate with clinical social workers on crisis response and support plans
• support attendance and graduation goals
• assess and refer students for tiered support
• communicate with families and staff
• connect students with community resources.
