The Class A Machinist, 2nd Shift role is onsite in Manchester, NH. Compensation is not specified. The work supports Granite State Manufacturing’s production of precision components and mission-critical systems for the U.S. Navy and major shipbuilders. The role exists to produce complex, accurate machined parts safely and efficiently. The machinist interprets drawings, sets up and operates CNC or manual equipment, checks work against tolerances, troubleshoots issues, and works with engineering and production colleagues to keep manufacturing moving.

What you'll do

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and sample parts
• determine dimensions, tolerances, operation sequence, and setup requirements
• mark and measure workpieces
• select and secure fixtures and tools
• set machining controls or edit computerized control media
• monitor operations and adjust for malfunctions or out-of-tolerance work
• work with engineering on solutions
• mentor and teach less experienced employees
• maintain a safe, clean, orderly work area and follow applicable policies and regulations.
