The Registered Nurse (RN), Perioperative and Outpatient Surgery role is an onsite 13-week travel contract in State College, PA, paying an estimated $2,000–$2,080 per week based on 40 hours. The nurse supports Mount Nittany Medical Center’s Outpatient Surgery Center and Perioperative Services. The RN provides care across the surgical patient journey, from assessment, admission, and preparation through recovery and discharge, coordinating with the surgical team to support safe, effective outpatient care. Assignments may include preoperative care, PACU, pain management, eye laser procedure rooms, and other perioperative areas.

What you'll do

• Assess patient needs and advocate for safety
• implement nursing interventions
• coordinate care and communicate assessments
• review diagnostic results and provide IV therapy as needed
• admit patients and implement physician orders
• verify records, procedures, site marking, and preoperative documentation
• educate patients and families
• provide PACU monitoring, pain management, and discharge-readiness assessments
• assist with nerve blocks and anesthesia supplies as needed
• maintain emergency equipment familiarity
• float among perioperative areas
• document electronically and use supplies responsibly.
