The Senior Electronics and Electrical System Design Engineer role is based in Columbus, OH. The role supports a team designing advanced electronic and electromechanical systems for government and industry customers. The engineer designs and develops electronic systems, from requirements and circuit concepts through firmware, testing, and delivery support. The work includes schematics, PCB layouts, embedded firmware, simulations, component selection, wiring diagrams, troubleshooting, technical documentation, and collaboration across project teams.

What you'll do

• Interpret design requirements and create block diagrams and concepts
• create circuit-board schematics, review PCB layouts, and generate CCA documentation
• develop and debug microprocessor firmware
• perform calculations, simulations, and component trade studies
• create wiring diagrams and harness drawings
• test and debug with electrical laboratory equipment
• reverse engineer systems for analysis and redesign
• write test plans and support test setup
• prepare presentations, reports, manuals, and procedures
• support designs after delivery.
