Chemical Dependency / Recovery Technician

The Chemical Dependency / Recovery Technician works onsite in Minneapolis, MN, on one of the listed schedules: Friday–Monday, noon–10 p.m., or Monday–Friday with every other weekend, 3–11 p.m. Compensation is not specified. The role supports Transformation House’s residential women’s treatment team serving adults receiving treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. The technician helps maintain a safe, structured, and welcoming environment while supporting patients’ daily routines and communicating concerns to clinical staff. Consistent patient support, safety monitoring, and collaboration with counselors and nurses contribute to the treatment program.

What you'll do

• Welcome new patients and assist with admission tasks
• explain program routines and expectations
• support daily activities while encouraging independence and accountability
• monitor well-being and complete safety rounds
• communicate concerns to appropriate staff
• assist with medication processes within training and program policies
• transport patients to approved destinations
• maintain patient notes and shift reports
• help with housekeeping and meal preparation as needed
• use de-escalation techniques and professional boundaries
• collaborate with counselors, nurses, and Recovery Techs.

Why this role

Weekend availability is required for the Friday–Monday schedule and every other weekend for the Monday–Friday schedule. Requires CPR and First Aid certification, an active Minnesota driver’s license, and at least two years of continuous freedom from substance abuse.
