Accounting Analyst

The Accounting Analyst role is remote and available to individuals working in the Pacific, Mountain, or Central Time Zones. The anticipated base pay range for the South San Francisco location is $65,000–$80,000 per year; compensation depends on the hired employee’s work location. Ohalo develops plant varieties and breeding systems intended to help farmers grow more food with fewer natural resources. Reporting to the Controller, the analyst owns day-to-day accounts payable, cash reconciliations, and core general ledger activity. The role helps build and improve accounting processes and finance infrastructure as Ohalo scales, including identifying opportunities to automate repetitive work.

What you'll do

• Process, code, and review vendor invoices and employee expense reports
• manage the accounts payable workflow using Ramp/Zip and NetSuite
• reconcile vendors, payments, bank and cash accounts, and assigned balance sheet accounts
• investigate discrepancies and aged items
• prepare and post monthly journal entries
• support month-end, quarterly, and year-end close, including flux analysis and supporting schedules
• help automate repetitive AP and reconciliation work using AI tools and workflow automation
• partner with procurement, budget owners, and vendors
• maintain audit-ready documentation
• administer the travel and expense program and perform periodic transaction audits.
