Direct Service Professional (DSP) – Creative Arts Program

The Direct Service Professional (DSP) – Creative Arts Program role is onsite in San Diego, CA, with listed locations also including Long Beach and South Bay. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, 30 hours per week. Compensation is $18–$20 per hour. Able ARTS Work provides lifelong learning, community service, and vocational opportunities through creative arts for people of all abilities and ages. The DSP supports participants’ personal care, mobility, learning, and behavioral objectives while helping them take part in classes and creative activities. The role contributes to a safe, inclusive learning environment and supports participants’ self-expression, vocational development, and social and emotional skills.

What you'll do

• Support personal care, feeding, hygiene, transfers, and mobility
• provide one-to-one and hand-over-hand class support
• assist with instructional and behavioral objectives
• help prepare and clean up snacks and meals
• monitor physical needs and safety
• support positive behavior
• record attendance and goal progress
• assist instructors and supervise classes during brief instructor absences
• attend training and meetings.
