The Elementary Intervention Program Assistant role is onsite in Folsom, CA. Pay is $20.85–$25.33 per hour. Working under a District psychologist, the assistant supports selected high-risk K–3 students through individual and small-group learning and social experiences. The role helps carry out goals established with the psychologist and teacher and supports student progress and behavior management.

What you'll do

• Assist individuals and small groups of primary students under a District psychologist’s supervision
• participate in conferences, training, and supervision meetings
• use conversation, creative play, and games with children experiencing school adjustment problems
• help build confidence and self-esteem
• provide feedback to the psychologist, principal, teachers, and school personnel
• organize materials
• maintain student progress notes
• reinforce student behavior as directed by the psychologist.

Why this role

The position is specially funded and continued employment depends on funding availability. Schedule is 5 hours per day, 2 days per week, within a variable schedule not exceeding 15 hours per week. Requires successful completion of the District Instructional Assistant Proficiency Test.
