The Lifeguard Instructor position is onsite in Palo Alto, CA, with pay of $25–$30 per hour. The role supports the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center’s aquatics certification needs within a nonprofit campus offering fitness, wellness, educational, social, cultural, and community programs. The instructor prepares and delivers Red Cross lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid courses, evaluates participants’ skills, and provides feedback and corrections under Red Cross guidelines and aquatics management direction. The work helps the center schedule and deliver training that supports its campus operations and safety needs.

What you'll do

• Coordinate course scheduling with the Aquatics Manager or department heads
• prepare and implement Red Cross lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid coursework
• observe and direct participants
• provide feedback and corrections according to Red Cross guidelines and management direction
• plan skill reviews and drills
• evaluate skills
• communicate student progress to students and parents, guardians, or managers
• assist with course development, implementation, and marketing.
