R&D Project Manager, Life Sciences

Job overview

The R&D Project Manager role is onsite in Charlotte, NC. Compensation is $90,000–$150,000 per year. The position supports Aptyx’s Life Sciences business, developing and commercializing Class II and Class III medical devices in a regulated contract development and manufacturing environment. The project manager owns customer programs from concept and feasibility through design transfer and manufacturing launch. By coordinating cross-functional teams, managing project plans and risks, and maintaining regulatory and quality requirements, the role supports customer satisfaction, successful commercialization, and business growth.

What you'll do

• Own delivery of multiple life sciences and medical device programs
• manage scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and budgets
• lead stage-gate reviews and resolve risks
• serve as primary customer contact
• coordinate R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Customer Service
• support proposals and scope definition
• ensure FDA, ISO 13485, and design-control compliance
• lead design transfer and launch readiness
• track project financials, forecasts, costs, and KPIs.
