Day Support Instructor

The Day Support Instructor works onsite in Cedar Bluff, VA, for up to 29 hours per week. Compensation is $13–$16.25 per hour. The role supports a skills-learning program for individuals with intellectual disabilities at Cumberland Mountain Community Services Board. The instructor provides supervision and instruction, monitors skill development and progress toward goals, and maintains program records. The work contributes to person-centered planning, treatment needs, and participants’ quality of life through coordination with case managers and other care providers.

What you'll do

• Provide instruction and supervision to individuals attending the skills-learning program
• monitor work quality and skill building and take steps to support goals
• maintain daily notes, person-centered plans, and other program records
• keep the facility and equipment clean and in good working order
• assist with medication administration, repackaging, and documentation
• assist with new employee training when requested
• liaise with case managers and care providers
• use agency-approved techniques when responding to aggressive behavior
• provide constant supervision
• transport individuals to program services and community activities
• travel to another agency location as directed.
