Property Maintenance Technician

Job overview

The Property Maintenance Technician role is onsite across Spartanburg Housing properties in Spartanburg, SC, with compensation of $24–$29 per hour. Spartanburg Housing’s mission is to provide affordable, quality housing options and programs that promote self-sufficiency for area residents. The technician maintains safe, sanitary, and functional properties through preventive maintenance, repairs, contractor coordination, and work-order documentation. The work supports residents and preserves the condition and curb appeal of the housing portfolio.

What you'll do

• Obtain bids and proposals and supervise outside contractors
• schedule apartment make-readies
• order supplies and maintain shop inventory within budget
• keep maintenance and inspection records
• perform planned electrical and plumbing maintenance, carpentry, masonry, drywall, painting, and HVAC control repairs
• maintain property cleanliness and curb appeal
• enter and close work orders
• participate in the on-call rotation as needed
• provide customer service to residents, staff, and vendors.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or GED, trade or vocational certification, or equivalent combination, at least four years of skilled building or facility maintenance experience, and CFC Type II or universal EPA 608 certification. Participation in an on-call rotation is required as needed.
