Intake Specialist

The role manages intake and financial clearance by coordinating scheduling, insurance verification and authorization, documentation, and billing information. It works with patients, medical facilities, insurance providers, and Dispatch to help ensure trips are financially cleared and ambulance units can be dispatched efficiently.

What you'll do

• Handle incoming calls to schedule non-emergency ambulance services
• verify insurance eligibility and benefits
• collect insurance and patient information
• obtain prior authorizations and follow up
• enter patient and trip information into the billing system and maintain records
• respond to billing inquiries and explain billing and collections
• establish payment plans
• follow HIPAA and other applicable requirements
• collaborate with Dispatch and meet weekly productivity benchmarks.
