The Instructional Assistant – After-School Discovery Centers role is onsite in Rapid City, SD. Pay is $15.48 per hour, with an expected 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.; one early-release Friday per month runs from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Black Hills Special Services Cooperative’s Discovery Centers provide structured after-school programming for students in grades K–12. The assistant implements and develops activities, monitors students, and supports positive interactions and behavior. The role helps maintain a safe, engaging program where students can reinforce classroom skills, explore interests, and build connections.

What you'll do

• Implement and develop activities as requested by the Site Coordinator
• monitor students and use appropriate behavior-management strategies
• engage students in positive, age-appropriate interactions
• attend staff meetings and training
• complete program setup, recess, janitorial, and cleanup duties
• perform related assigned duties.
