Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)

Job overview

The Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) role is primarily onsite, with seating available in Annapolis Junction, MD; Washington, DC; or Reston, VA. Compensation is $180,000 per year. The role supports a federal intelligence community program and requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph; remote work is not available. The ISSO helps ensure program systems meet security requirements throughout their lifecycle. Working with engineering, operations, and cybersecurity stakeholders, the role assesses technical environments, manages risk, maintains authorization documentation, and supports systems in achieving and maintaining Authorization to Operate.

What you'll do

• Conduct technical security assessments
• ensure system security compliance and manage risks
• support certification and authorization activities
• coordinate with application leads, administrators, developers, testers, ISSMs, SCAs, and authorizing officials
• develop and maintain SSPs, POA&Ms, and other documentation in XACTA
• coordinate IATT and ATO activities
• implement and validate NIST SP 800-53 controls in cloud-native DPaaS environments
• apply Zero Trust principles to data services.
