The Pre-K Teacher Assistant role is onsite in Livingston, NJ, for 25 hours per week, with pay of $16.50–$19.65 per hour. The Metro YMCA of the Oranges focuses on nurturing children’s potential, healthy living, and social responsibility. Working under the Child Care Director and Lead Teacher, the assistant helps implement classroom curriculum and activities and may lead the classroom when the Lead Teacher is absent. The role contributes to a safe, supportive, high-quality experience for children and families.

What you'll do

• Assist the Lead Teacher with age-appropriate curriculum, classroom organization, and a healthy and safe environment
• work with different age groups and classes as needed
• provide consistent interaction and encouragement
• respond to parent inquiries
• attend meetings and training
• participate in YMCA events and summer camp programs
• and model YMCA core values.

Why this role
