Behavioral Health Aide

Job overview

The Behavioral Health Aide role is onsite in Pittsfield, MA, with pay of $20–$24 per hour. Hillcrest Commons provides skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and other post-acute care to area families. The aide supports residents on the behavioral unit by helping maintain a structured, safe environment and promoting improved behavior and quality of life. Duties include behavioral support, therapeutic activities, observation and documentation, redirection, and personal care when needed.

What you'll do

• Support residents with mental health needs or aggressive behaviors
• assist on the unit
• provide therapeutic programming and group activities
• chart activity logs
• monitor hallways and redirect residents as needed
• model prosocial behavior and group participation
• maintain resident safety
• observe, record, and document behavior
• provide personal care when needed, including toileting, feeding, and positioning
• counsel residents on positive behavioral practices
• maintain a clean, safe environment. Current Massachusetts CNA certification is required, or complete a CNA program and obtain certification within 120 days of hire through facility-funded classes.
