Campus Security Officer

The Campus Security Officer role is onsite in San Jose, CA, with pay of $26.29–$32.14 per hour. The officer supports a safe and orderly school environment at Escuela Popular Del Pueblo. The role helps maintain campus safety by monitoring school areas, supporting safety procedures, responding to incidents, and coordinating with school leadership and public safety personnel. It also provides day-to-day direction to Campus Supervisors to help ensure coverage during key supervision periods.

What you'll do

• Patrol school buildings, grounds, entrances, and parking areas
• monitor campus access and follow visitor procedures
• support student supervision during arrival, breaks, passing periods, lunch, and dismissal
• respond to disruptions using approved de-escalation methods
• notify administrators and, when appropriate, law enforcement or emergency services
• assist with drills, lockdowns, evacuations, and medical incidents
• document incidents
• coordinate supervision coverage
• complete assigned opening and closing security procedures
• support approved after-hours or weekend events.
