Safety and Security Officer

The Safety and Security Officer role is onsite at the Givens Highland Farms campus in Black Mountain, NC. Compensation is $19.50–$23.50 per hour, based on experience, plus shift differentials. Givens Communities supports older adults through communities, services, and outreach. The officer helps maintain a safe campus for residents, visitors, and staff by controlling access, patrolling, responding to emergencies, investigating and documenting incidents, and supporting safety drills and after-hours maintenance calls.

What you'll do

• Monitor emergency alarms and alerts
• respond to resident emergencies
• control campus access and traffic
• patrol and secure buildings
• investigate and document safety and security incidents
• conduct safety drills
• assist emergency medical services
• provide initial response to after-hours maintenance calls
• provide resident transportation and light maintenance support.

Why this role

Weekend evening schedule includes Friday 1 a.m.–7 a.m. and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 7 p.m.–7 a.m. CPR and First Aid certifications are required or must be obtained within 90 days; EMR certification must be obtained after hire.
