Weatherization Energy Auditor

Job overview

The Weatherization Energy Auditor is an onsite, field-based role based in Burke County, NC. Starting pay is $18 per hour; after six months, pay increases to $20 per hour upon successful completion of the training plan and introductory period. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered after 90 days. Blue Ridge Community Action's Weatherization team conducts home inspections and identifies improvements through the Weatherization Assistance Program. The auditor assesses homes for energy efficiency, construction, health, and safety concerns, performs diagnostic tests, and prepares work orders and project documentation. The role helps coordinate weatherization work and review completed improvements against program requirements.

What you'll do

• Schedule and conduct residential energy audits and inspections
• perform blower door, combustion appliance safety, duct, and air-sealing checks
• identify needed repairs and improvements
• prepare work orders and documentation
• enter client and audit information into databases
• explain services and safety requirements
• coordinate with contractors and staff
• review completed work
• track project materials.
