Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon — General Surgery

The Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon role is onsite in Charleston, SC; compensation is not specified. The surgeon will join MUSC’s Division of Acute Care Surgery, which includes trauma, emergency general surgery, surgical critical care, and burn surgery. MUSC is the Lowcountry’s only ACS-verified Level I Trauma Center. The position provides high-acuity clinical care while supporting the division’s academic mission through teaching, mentorship, research, or quality improvement. The surgeon contributes to trauma and emergency surgical services and care for critically ill surgical and trauma patients.

What you'll do

• Provide operative and nonoperative care on trauma and emergency general surgery services, including in-house trauma call
• cover the intensive care unit for critically ill surgical and trauma patients
• teach and mentor medical students, general surgery residents, and surgical critical care fellows
• contribute to academic, quality improvement, and performance improvement missions.
