What you'll do

• Review patient charts and medication orders
• process and fill prescriptions and check them for accuracy
• educate patients on medication therapy
• collaborate with pharmacy staff and providers
• respond to drug therapy questions
• recognize emergencies and adverse medication reactions and intervene as appropriate
• screen calls and process refill requests
• perform controlled-substance audits if directed
• provide IV admixtures and inpatient drug distribution based on patient-care needs and service-unit policies
• administer immunizations when certified
• participate in training and competency activities.
