What you'll do

• Assess patients and their need for therapy
• collaborate with healthcare team members on care planning
• verify orders and administer aerosolized medication, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, oxygen, and medical gas therapy
• manage ventilators and weaning
• interpret waveforms
• provide airway management, including intubation, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• perform arterial blood gas sampling and analysis
• educate patients
• mentor or precept employees, students, and peers
• maintain accurate electronic orders, charting, and charging
• support patient safety and performance improvement.
