The UX Engineer – Level II (UI/UX Designer Specialist II) is a hybrid position with a 50% onsite and 50% remote schedule in New York, NY. Compensation is $40 per hour. The consultant supports the Fair Hearings project in a Health and Human Services environment and contributes to New York State strategic initiatives. The role develops user-centered applications through research, design, prototyping, usability testing, and iterative improvement. Working with stakeholders, developers, and cross-functional teams, the UX Engineer translates business needs and user feedback into functional experiences across web, iOS, and Android platforms.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to understand objectives and develop solutions
- design and implement client-facing and internal applications
- apply enterprise architecture principles
- analyze stakeholder feedback and other information
- address application defects and enhancements
- participate in post-implementation incident resolution as required
- plan and conduct user research, surveys, interviews, focus groups, and design-thinking workshops
- create user models, scenarios, stories, flows, prototypes, wireframes, storyboards, and sitemaps
- conduct usability testing and analyze feedback
- work with developers to implement designs
- support content development and code-based prototypes
- analyze quantitative and qualitative UX metrics
- design for web, iOS, and Android.
