Family Law Attorney

Job overview

The Family Law Attorney role is remote for office work, with court and case events in Central to Eastern Massachusetts; compensation is $100,000–$120,000 per year, with bonus compensation available. Foundations Family Law & Mediation Center focuses on resolving family law conflicts as peacefully as possible and serves clients in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The attorney guides clients through family law matters by developing case strategies, communicating with clients, negotiating, drafting pleadings, and advocating at hearings and other case events. The role contributes to the firm’s client-centered practice while collaborating with attorneys and paralegals and meeting a minimum of 100 billable hours per month.

What you'll do

• Meet with clients to determine goals and develop case strategies
• communicate with clients in a timely manner
• negotiate with opposing counsel and self-represented parties
• draft pleadings and related case documents
• prepare and advocate for clients at hearings and case events
• collaborate with attorneys and paralegals
• maintain contemporaneous time entries and participate in case meetings.

Why this role
