Service Technician – Special Projects

Job overview

The Service Technician – Special Projects role is onsite in Washington, DC, with compensation of $27.04–$28.63 per hour. SOME provides services and material aid to vulnerable neighbors in Washington, DC, and this position supports its Facilities Management department. The technician maintains buildings and associated equipment through routine, corrective, emergency, preventive, and project repairs. The work helps keep residential facilities safe, functional, and ready to support SOME’s programs and services.

What you'll do

• Repair and maintain building systems and equipment, including electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, plumbing, and HVAC
• perform painting and carpentry
• support housing turnovers and renovations
• purchase materials, maintain inventory, and keep records
• support special projects
• coordinate potential site impacts with the Facilities Compliance Project Manager
• follow safe work practices
• complete work orders in eMaintenance
• participate in the on-call rotation and respond after hours if needed.
