Director of Business Development

The Director of Business Development role is onsite in Syracuse, NY. Compensation is $75,000–$80,000 per year. The director leads the City of Syracuse Division of Business Development and advances the city's economic development priorities. The role promotes business and economic development by attracting new businesses and supporting the retention and expansion of existing businesses. It directs strategic initiatives, programs, partnerships, and staff activities to help advance investment and development consistent with city policies and goals.

What you'll do

• Support strategic plans, studies, reports, and recommendations
• direct business attraction, retention, expansion, small business support, and real estate development initiatives
• analyze projects and investment opportunities
• assist with applications, permitting, and project coordination
• develop and implement economic development programs
• monitor relevant legislation and economic trends
• evaluate projects and incentives
• coordinate grants, funding proposals, contracts, and documentation
• build stakeholder relationships and coordinate with government partners
• provide presentations and information to public and community audiences
• manage division activities and supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate staff.
