Pediatric Mental and Behavioral Health Technician

Job overview

The Pediatric Mental and Behavioral Health Technician role is onsite in Olathe, KS, in clinical, residential, or community-based settings. Starting pay is $20–$24 per hour, with stated differentials of $3 per hour for weekday evenings and $2 per hour for overnight and weekend shifts. The role supports pediatric patients with mental health disorders and developmental disabilities. Under licensed clinicians’ supervision, the technician provides hands-on care, implements treatment plans, supports daily living and coping skills, monitors and documents patient well-being, responds to behavioral crises, and collaborates with healthcare teams and families.

• Assist with hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management
• monitor and document patient behavior and well-being
• implement individualized treatment plans
• support coping and life skills
• respond to behavioral crises and de-escalate situations
• maintain a safe environment
• keep confidential documentation
• follow HIPAA and safety protocols
• collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• participate in treatment planning
• educate patients and families and assist with group therapy and workshops.
