The Automation Tech Specialist 2 role is onsite in Caroline County, VA, with local, regional, and national travel potentially required. Compensation is $81,600–$102,000 per year. M.C. Dean designs, builds, operates, and maintains integrated power and technology solutions for mission-critical facilities and infrastructure. The specialist provides technical leadership for instrumentation and integrated building, power management, and industrial control systems. The role supports system implementation, testing, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting to help ensure performance, interoperability, and security.

What you'll do

• Assist with development, implementation, and maintenance of BMS, EPMS, and SCADA systems
• configure TCP/IP and communication devices
• troubleshoot communication links and Modbus gateways
• configure and monitor power meters, PDUs, ATS, generators, STS, UPS, and battery systems
• navigate EPMS and SCADA applications
• support breaker monitoring
• load and update PLC projects and communication parameters
• prepare and review sketches, commissioning plans, and data sheets
• perform routine calculations
• review supplier documentation
• support inspection, testing, startup, and commissioning
• manage startup scripts, progress, and issue lists
• troubleshoot PLC and SCADA
• travel to customer sites as needed.
