Lead Reliability Engineer

The Lead Reliability Engineer role is onsite in Austin, TX, and compensation is not specified. Skyways designs and operates autonomous cargo aircraft, and this role supports reliability across its V2 and V3 fleets. The role exists to improve aircraft availability and reduce failures as Skyways scales production. It owns fleet reliability investigations from issue intake through root cause, corrective action, validation, and permanent closure, then feeds findings into design, manufacturing, maintenance, and flight operations.

What you'll do

• Own fleet reliability issues through the Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process
• investigate root causes using evidence and designed tests
• troubleshoot failures across avionics, propulsion, power, EMI, software, and flight controls
• analyze flight logs, telemetry, manufacturing, and maintenance data
• track fleet reliability metrics and growth
• communicate findings and feed corrective actions into design, manufacturing, maintenance, and flight operations.
