The Direct Support Professional (DSP) — Group Home role is an onsite, full-time position in Forest, VA, with available first, second, and third shifts: 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, and 10:00 PM–6:00 AM. Compensation is not specified. Helen’s Hands provides community-based services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The DSP supports individuals in group homes and community settings with daily living tasks, personal care, appointments, and progress toward individual goals. The role contributes to clients’ independence and community participation while documenting daily activities and supports provided.

What you'll do

• Support individuals with domestic tasks such as laundry, vacuuming, cleaning, and organizing
• assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, and cooking
• accompany individuals to medical and dental appointments
• assist with medication administration and basic personal care
• support individual goals and community activities
• enter daily notes and documentation, including unusual events
• participate in required training and staff meetings.
