The 2027 Construction Project Engineering Summer Internship is onsite in Washington, DC. Smoot Construction provides construction management, general contracting, and design-build services. The internship gives students exposure to active construction projects and the work of project teams from planning through closeout. Interns may observe and contribute to field operations and project management activities, supporting successful project delivery while developing construction skills.

What you'll do

• Potential experiences include shadowing Project Engineers on RFIs, submittals, and change orders
• helping update schedules and track milestones
• joining site walks
• observing safety and compliance practices
• assisting with quality-control observations and field documentation
• supporting meetings, reports, presentations, material coordination, site logistics, and closeout tasks.
