What you'll do

• Operate power shovels, horizontal directional drills, mini-excavators, hydro-vacs, or backhoes as applicable
• hand-dig potholes along a route
• follow digging plans, machine limitations, safety procedures, hand signals, grade stakes, and other markings
• backfill excavations, break rock or concrete, and perform directional drill boring
• move materials around the construction site or shop yard
• conduct daily vehicle and equipment maintenance inspections
• perform other duties as assigned.
