Job overview

The Nonpartisan Voter Engagement Canvasser role is onsite across New Orleans, Lafayette, Shreveport, Gonzales, and East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, with pay of $22 per hour. LORI's campaign focuses primarily on immigrant and refugee communities and other voters who may be overlooked. The canvasser supports nonpartisan voter participation by sharing voting information, helping eligible voters make plans to vote, conducting outreach, recruiting volunteers, and recording campaign activity through the December 12 runoff.

What you'll do

• Knock doors and hold respectful voter conversations
• share voting dates, locations, ID rules, early-voting information, and voter rights
• help eligible voters make written voting plans
• sign voters up for shuttle rides
• explain constitutional amendments using LORI's plain-language guide without recommending a vote
• phone bank using the nonpartisan script
• represent LORI at community organizations and events
• recruit volunteers
• hold voting reminder signs
• record activity and submit weekly reports.
