The Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (ICU RN) — Critical Care, Nights role is onsite in Cleveland, OH, at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. Pay is $57–$60 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. The role supports critical care for Veterans at the VA medical center. The nurse provides direct care to critically ill Veterans who need continuous monitoring, advanced therapies, and life-support interventions. Through assessment, treatment, emergency response, and coordination with multidisciplinary clinicians, the role contributes to safe, evidence-based critical care.

What you'll do

• Assess patients continuously and monitor changes in clinical condition
• provide nursing care, medications, IV therapies, and prescribed treatments
• interpret cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic parameters
• manage central lines and support vascular access
• assist with ventilation and respiratory support
• respond to emergencies
• develop and evaluate care plans
• coordinate multidisciplinary care
• document in electronic medical records
• educate and support patients and families
• provide postoperative critical care
• participate in quality improvement and staff meetings. Advanced therapies such as IABP, Impella, CRRT, ECMO, and LVAD may be involved depending on assignment, patient needs, and competency.

Why this role

VA assignment requires all RN nursing degrees to have been from ACEN- or CCNE-accredited programs at graduation. Ohio or NLC multistate RN license, AHA BLS and ACLS certifications, and two years of recent direct patient care experience are required.
