Program Nurse

Job overview

The Program Nurse role is onsite in Macon, GA, and is part-time. Compensation is $30 per hour. The nurse works with a multidisciplinary team to provide care for people undergoing detoxification from alcohol, opioids, and other drugs. The nurse supports patient safety, comfort, and medical stability during detox by assessing patients, monitoring vital signs and withdrawal symptoms, administering prescribed medications, and documenting care. Patient and family education and coordination with the treatment team contribute to safe, informed recovery support.

What you'll do

• Conduct admission nursing assessments
• monitor vital signs and withdrawal symptoms using standardized protocols
• educate clients about medications and potential side effects
• document observations and report changes to the clinical team
• administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions
• complete incident reports and required paperwork
• collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team
• educate patients and families about detox, withdrawal symptoms, recovery resources, medication use, coping strategies, and post-discharge self-care
• document care in KIPU EMR.
