Plant Maintenance Mechanic II

Job overview

The Plant Maintenance Mechanic II role is fully onsite in Granite City, Illinois, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Pay is $28–$32 per hour, paid weekly. The mechanic supports equipment used to process recycled ferrous and non-ferrous materials at Wieland. The role maintains equipment reliability and production uptime through preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and continuous improvement. It also supports equipment installation, maintenance documentation, and safe plant operations.

What you'll do

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on recycling production systems
• conduct equipment inspections
• complete maintenance records and permits
• assist with equipment setup and installation
• help maintain equipment and supply inventory
• follow safety, ISO, OSHA, and DEQ requirements
• participate in continuous improvement.
