Youth Sports Coach and Mentor — Baltimore City

The Youth Sports Coach and Mentor role is onsite in Baltimore, MD. Compensation is not specified. The role also helps develop teen participants as youth coaches and supports the design and pilot of an elementary-aged sports outreach initiative in Sandtown/West Baltimore.

What you'll do

• Coach and mentor teenage and elementary-aged youth
• plan and lead sports practices, skills sessions, fitness activities, games, and youth development activities
• build mentoring relationships
• teach teamwork, communication, leadership, and coaching skills
• observe teen coaches and provide feedback
• help design and pilot an elementary-aged sports outreach initiative
• support school- and community-based programming
• coordinate equipment and activity plans
• gather participant feedback and program information
• complete attendance, evaluation, service-hour, and AmeriCorps reporting
• participate in training and team meetings.
