What you'll do

• Manage an editorial calendar and feature stories from pitch through publication
• develop story ideas aligned with communication objectives
• interview medical staff, patients, families, and subject matter experts
• coordinate multimedia packages with photographers, videographers, and designers
• craft stakeholder messaging
• monitor media coverage
• plan press and community events
• support crisis communications
• maintain internal and external media relationships
• compile communication reports
• write and edit in AP Style
• update websites and social media
• develop speeches and briefings
• and safeguard HIPAA-protected information.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English, or a related field; 5+ years of journalism or professional writing experience; healthcare communications, military public affairs, or similar experience; and HIPAA/PHI knowledge.
